Birthday Week Madness Kaylie is 1!!!

So the first 9 days of June is crazy busy for us! Derrick turned the  BIG 30 on the 6th had his best friend fly in from Washington and we all went golfing. Kaylie turned 1 on the 7th and  our Wedding anniversary is the 9th. To top it off Kaylie was having some testing done for her kidney issues so we were at Children's Primary Hospital all week. (that's a whole blog in itself )

So I felt like such a bad mommy since I was planning Lilah's 1st birthday months in advance. It was Tuesday the 2nd and I hadn't even picked a theme...  I had only 5 days to put her birthday together. Thank goodness I did the invites in advance. Oh goodness with the stress was piling! So I took a look in pintrest in the middle of the night with some help from some old friends.  Since I wasn't sleeping due to stress and all three major celebrations land in a 3 day time period I have to be very frugal. We did this whole party including her gift for only $248! WOW!

We ended up choosing a super cute theme Circus! I chose to get away from traditional circus colors (blue yellow and red) I went for something a little more girly ( teal, pink, yellow, and a touch of grey.)

We had some minor hiccups... major hiccups 20 mph winds so 30 minute prior to the party we moved it indoors. Thankfully my husband and his best friend Brian were there to rescue a party that could of been blown away!

Snack foods we went with super cute circus foods! Cotton Candy, pastel sixlets, chocolate covered popcorn, dum dum suckers, and of course lemonade.

Decor we picked up from Hobby lobby and of course the Dollar store!

This is the first store bought cake we have ever done... mind you I had like 4 hours of sleep and between driving to the hospital and getting the house ready for Uncle Brian I just didn't have time to do a home made cake. BUT if you are ever in a bind you just need to give 1 day notice to Costco fill out the cake order sheet and they create darling cakes for super cheap! Plus it was extremely tasty and feeds 48 people! A whopping price  of $17.99!!!!

Her birthday was beyond fun I was so happy with the turn out.

Kaylie loved smashing her cake until their was a mess and she was not having it!

Kaylie's outfit was so cute I bought it from one of my friends etsy shops! (SewTUTUCutebyDani)

How I made the popcorn!
I have this super cute air popper so I made three batches of popcorn and while each batch is popping I chop up 1 Hershey chocolate bar and chop it up in into tiny pieces and mix it in with a wood spoon.

One chocolate bar is perfect amount of chocolate to speckle 3 loads of popcorn. I just mix while it pops and it lightly covers the popcorn making it just PERFECT!

It is a one of the girls favorite home treats that I make for movie night. Perfect for a party on a budget.
